I watched the video on your youtube channel and while the presentation was okay it was impossible to see the words on the PowerPoint presentation.

Could somebody please post an answer as to how it we can use Google analytics to track clicks away from our site to the by Phen375 site and then subsequent purchases. I know it is possible to set up a goal by tracking a click out to be affiliate site but I would also like to know whether that click then results in a sale and which landing page converts the best for the people I send to the affiliate site.

Thanks
Vossey

You can use custom params at your url to pass any data you want and it will be reported on successful order in your transaction details. Dynamic params are:

&ck and &kw

So add at the end of your tracking url any identifier you would like and it will be reported;

Do you guys think its safe to use Google Analytics to track affiliate sites?
I've read somewhere that it is better not to use analytics to avoid google penalty.

It depends on a few things. One of them is user experience. If it's a bad one e.g. - users are not spending too much time on your site, too high baunce rate, low page views etc. Then those are the stats you don't really want Google to notice straight away. Same with link building methods, traffic boosts etc... so I guess it does make sense not to use GA nowadays.

However, if the user experience is amazing then technically the first thing you want to do is scream about it for Google to see them.

With GA instaleld Google sees everything you see but do you want them to? If "YES" go for it if "NOT" use sitemeter or alternative.

On the other hand majority of affiliates are still using GA and I don't see it hurting them but perhaps we just don'' see it.

Google is a reporting tool. It already knows everything. Open an account and you may see all data alreay collected and formated in nice reports.

Add it to your important websites and dont add it to your satelite sites, if you believe google dont know who owns them.
