My site gets around 4000 to 5000 uniques a day and yet I am only sending 7 or 8 visitors to the product I am promoting. The banner is above the fold.
Any forum members earning big?

Hello Newbie,
The best thing to do would be to talk to the affiliate manager of the product(s) you are promoting. He/She would take a look to your site, and probably ask question about your traffic and then can make some recommendations.
To be able to help you you need to give more information than just to mention the position of a banner. That is why is better to talk to the Affiliate Manager in private. There are some good people in here, with morals, ethics and knowledge to help you, but there are others who don't.

Get in touch with the product manager, but banners for sure is not the way to go. The old days of banners have long gone.

It is great for branding, but if you want to sell then contextual links, pre-sale copy (product reviews / details) is the way to go.
